My name is Tina Møller Sørensen. I am an assistant professor in section of medicine, oncology and clinical pathology, where we mainly work with medical illnesses. We have a very broad and diverse group of patients, but our focus is in-depth diagnostics, to ensure the most correct treatment of the individual patients

My research focuses precisely on the optimization of our current diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections in dogs. My focus is diagnostics and antimicrobial usage in primary practice. The subject is relevant because there are large gaps in the scientific litterature of our way to deal with this particular group of patients, and especially how we treat them. Urinary tract infections are typically treated with antibiotics. Since the development of resistance among bacteria is a emerging nationally and internationally problem in both humans and animals , we must be sure to only use antibiotics when it is justified and necessary for the patient.
