Researcher at the Centre for research and education in General Practice, University of Copenhagen. My main area of work is the implementation of cross-national and interdisciplinary projects within the area of Antimicrobial Resistance;  with a special interest in the development of quality & research cycles aimed at decreasing inappropriate use of antibiotics at primary care level in Latin-America and Europe.

  • Analysis and report of data related to antimicrobial resistance and use of antibiotics in primary care.

 

  • Assess capacities and capacity building needs in each country. It included assessment of the availability and use of point-of-care diagnostic tests (POCTs) as well as availability of clinical guidelines.

 

  • Develop and deliver training modules for the evidence-based diagnosis and management of RTIs for health care professionals working at primary care level (e.g. workshops, online evidence-based reminders).

 

  • Develop and deliver information to patients about rational use of antibiotics (e.g. leaflets, posters, interviews in the media).

 

  • Multilevel analysis of surveillance data on antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic consumption (nation-wide databases).

  • Conducted the descriptive and statistical analysis of the data from the EU-funded project HAPPY AUDIT (Health Alliance for Prudent Prescribing, Yield And Use of Anti-microbial Drugs In the Treatment of Respiratory Tract Infections).
  • Disseminated research findings: drafting reports for the European Commission and making presentations at conferences.
  •  Assisted in the writing of national and international grants (e.g. MATCH: Multi-Analyte Test for Urinary Tract Infections in Primary Health Care. Grant applied to the FP7 framework with 10 partners in six European countries).

  • Assisted the execution of the PHBLM project ((Increasing Public Health Safety Alongside the New Eastern European Border Line).
  • Prepared a set of guidelines and recommendations to be followed by policymakers and health professionals in the involved countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Romania).
  • Assisted the preparation of meetings and seminars to discuss the findings from the PHBLM project with representatives from the ministry of the interior and public health board of each country in order to tailor the guidelines to the needs of eachspecific country.
