In my PhD thesis work I studied different aspects of hypoxia and the transcription factor HIF-1 in hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology. My work led to findings that support a role for hypoxic regulation of HSCs via VEGFA-induction and Cripto/GRP78 signaling. After joining the lab of Bo porse, I have been working on projects characterizing the role of the transcription factor Erg and alternative splicing in hematopoiesis.
