My research interest focuses on foodomics, metabolomics and multivariate data analysis. I am interested in extending the boundaries of analytical chemistry methods to screen small molecular metabolites in biological systems prior to understand their responses to external factors. Three major analytical platforms I work on are Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS). I also conduct research towards the development of rapid and efficient methods for (1) converting complex metabolomics datasets into an informative quantitative metabolite data and (2) extraction of biological information from complex datasets using multivariate data analysis.
