2002: B.Sc. in Biology, University of Copenhagen.

Employment:

2015 – prestent : Project coordinator in the section of Comparative Pediatrics and Nutrition, Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Copenhagen

2014 - 2015: Postdoc at Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, Science, KU/Department of Clinical, Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Copenhagen

2010 – 2011: Research assistant at the National Veterinary Institute, DTU and Department of Human Nutrition, University of Copenhagen

2006: Two months exchange employment at university of Hong Kong, Zoological department

2002-2004: Practical instructor in four different biology (botany) courses at Copenhagen University

Research Experiences:
Working with preterm piglets as an animal model for nutrient sensitive preterm infants
Conventional and molecular microbiology
Histo-morphological analysis
Enzymatic and absorptive gut function
Total protein analysis
Host gene responses to gut colonization
Immuno-histochemestry and confocal microscopy

Using an animal model with preterm piglets I have studied the role of gut colonization and nutrition on intestinal health and function of the neonate. When fed a mothers milk replacer, preterm piglets spontaneously develop symptoms similar to human Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a severe, acute intestinal disease with high maorbidity and mortality. With different nutritional interventions and modification of the colonizing gut bacteria and extensive laboratory analysis on tissue samples, I have studied disease development and pathology, and potential prevention and therapeutics of NEC.

Teaching Experience:
Co-organizer for the thematic course in Human Nutrition 2013-2014, scientific supervisor for the Thematic cours in Human Nutrition 2009-2014, supervision of three master's students and one bachelor student, several lectures at different courses at University of Copenhagen and DTU.
During my studies I have worked 2 years as a practical instructor at four different courses at the Biological institute, University of Copenhagen.
