Primary fields of research
My research focus is sequencing methods for the study of DNA. This technique is often referred to as next generation sequencing (NGS), second generation sequencing (SGS), massively parallel sequencing (MPS) or high throughput sequencing (HTS).
Within genetics, this technique allows investigating the details and alterations in DNA and the information it can provide. I have further specialised in the field of epigenetics investigating the small changes in the expression of the DNA.
I have, from previous research projects, great experience with working with minute amounts of DNA or RNA accompanied with greater quantities of DNA or RNA outside target. From that I have several years of experience with molecular capture methods where we are able to fish out the very small quantities of target DNA and RNA.
