In her PhD project, Emilie Rune Hegelund investigates how intelligence is associated with unsuccessful educational and occupational achievement among young people in Denmark. Her focus is particularly on the role of intelligence in predicting unsuccessful educational and occupational achievement, whether family social background influences the associations of intelligence with unsuccessful educational and occupational achievement, and whether family factors operating in childhood can explain the associations of intelligence with unsuccessful educational and occupational achievement.
Additionally, she is attached to a research project which aims to investigate how great influence quality of life has on later morbidity and mortality compared to more conventional risk factors (early development and lifestyle factors).
