Personal profile

Short presentation

My name is Anna Müller. I am a ph.d.-student in veterinary diagnostic imaging, a branch of veterinary medicine, where we use different imaging techniques to diagnose disease in animals. Imaging is widely used in many different areas of veterinary medicine, for example emergency and critical care, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, neurology and oncology. Most examinations are noninvasive, but we also use imaging to sample tissue. In our department we can offer state-of-the-art equipment for digital radiography, ultrasound, computer tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, fluoroscopy, scintigraphy and dexa scanning. Our patients include companion animals, exotic animals, horses, cows and other farm animals.

My research is about quantifying ultrasound images, doppler sound waves and computer tomography (CT) images. This is relevant because there is often more information in an image than what is obvious to the naked eye. For example, the human eye can differentiate less than 30 shades of gray - but an ultrasound image can contain up to 255 different shades of gray. By using mathematichal methods, the images can be examined in an thorough and objective manner, in addition to the subjective interpretation by the observer.

You are welcome to contact me for further information about my research.
Best regards,
Anna Müller
