Academic profile, in brief:

Research focus is on nutrition in relation to gastrointestinal development, immune regulation and brain development, particularly in early life. Methods include in vivo animal models, human studies, in vitro cell models and ex vivo tissue studies to clarify specific intestinal responses and cellular mechanisms. Nutrients of interest are bioactive compounds, pre- and probiotics and human milk oligosaccharides to regulate the immune system and intestinal functions.
