Personlig profil

Primære forskningsområder

I am broadly interested in the molecular and cellular mechanisms that leads to malignant transformation of cancer cells. I am using an invertebrate model organism – the fruit fly Drosophila – as a discovery platform to identify novel genes involved in metastasis development. I am using mammalian cell culture models to explore whether the function of candidate genes may be conserved and hence potentially relevant to human cancers.

Aktuel forskning

Currently, I am investigating ubiquitin-dependent regulation of a well-known tumor suppressor gene by a de-ubiquitinating enzyme. Moreover, I am investigating a novel metabolic enzyme whose depletion causes cancer-like phenotypes both in the fly and in cultured human cells.
