Abstract

Authorship to this article exceptionally is amended to claims made and settled after its publication. Authorship now reads: Jane Mutheu Mutune1⁎, Jens Friis Lund2, Raphael Wahome3, David Mungai1 1Wangari Maathai Institute for peace and Environmental Studies, University of Nairobi 2 Departments of Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen 3 Department of Animal Production, University of Nairobi This article was written, submitted, revised and re-submitted to Forest Policy and Economics in collaboration between Jane Mutheu Mutune Wangari Maathai Institute, University of Nairobi and Jens Friis Lund, Department of Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen. Jane Mutheu Mutune planned the study, collected the data and led the analysis and writing. Jens Friis Lund contributed to planning, analysis, writing and revisions and resubmission. Raphael G. Wahome and David N. Mungai, both senior staff members at the Wangari Maathai Institute, University of Nairobi contributed to the planning of the field work underlying the article as well as through written comments and edits to an early draft of the article. Shortly following its publication in June 2016, Raphael G. Wahome and David N. Mungai claimed and were –subject to diverging interpretations- awarded authorship to the article citing the above mentioned contributions. Unethical behavior could, at no time, be identified on the side of the original two authors.
