Short presentation

In addition to clearance of pathogens such as bacteria and viruses, adaptive immune cells, T and B lymphocytes, play a major role in pathologies of diseases ranging from inflammatory bowel disease and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) to more classical autoimmune diseases such as type I diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. We are interested in T cell activation and especially inhibitory signals/receptors hereof. New knowledge of immunomodulatory mechanisms in T cell activation could lead to new therapies to avoid excessive immune responses.
