Short presentation

Marianne Benn work with genetic epidemiology in translational medicine. Her research focuses on using Mendelian randomization in large population cohorts, i.e. the Copenhagen General Population Study, the Copenhagen City Heart Study, and the UK Biobank, to differentiate biomarkers with causal effects on disease from simple markers of disease; to identify patterns of common genetic variants defining individuals at high risk of disease; to predict effects of drugs from genetic variation in genes targeted by the drugs; and using genetics to predict public health effects of treatment or intervention.
