Short presentation

My current research interests are induced pluipotent cells (iPSC) from pigs and humans.

Regarding the porcine iPSC I am working on making naive pluripotent stem cells which are able to generate chimeras. Furthermore, I am comparing the pluripotent state of porcine iPSC to porcine embryos via RNAseq to understand similarities and discrepancies in regards to pluripotency.

I am interested in neurodegenerative disorder in particular Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia. I am using patient specific iPSC and differentiate these into disease relevant neuronal subtypes to investigate the underlying disaese mechanisms.
