Uddannnet dyrlæge i 1989 fra den Kgl. Veterinær- og Landbohøjskole. Ph.D-studium i 1992-1994 samme steds - projekt "dilateret kardiomyopati hos hund - ekkokardiografiske og neurohumorale studier" med tildeling af Ph.D.-graden i 1995. Adjunkt i 1995 og lektor i 1998. Daglig leder af den kardiologiske gruppe på Institut for Klinisk Veterinær- og Husdyrsvidenskab. Udnævnt til professor i veterinær klinisk kardiologi fra d. 1. juni 2018.
