Research

My research is focused on the history and philosophy of science, in particular history of mathematics since 1800, philosophy of mathematical practice, history and philosophy of computer science.

I have written more than 75 publications including research publications in history of mathematics, philosophy of mathematics, mathematics, didactics of mathematics and numerous popular articles.

I have worked on 19th-century transition in mathematical concepts, internationalization of Scandinavian science, and the impact of computers on mathematical research.

During 2017 I had a grant to develop a Danish Network for History and Philosophy of Computer Science.

Teaching and supervision

I have taught numerous courses in history of mathematics (BSc and MSc), philosophy of mathematics (BSc and MSc), philosophy of computer science (BSc), history of science (MSc), and philosophy of science for PhD students. 

Together with Mikkel Willum Johansen, I wrote the textbook in philosophy of mathematics used in university courses. 

I have supervised more than a dozen MSc-theses and a similar number of BSc-thesis as well as 2 PhD students.
