From 2016 Associate Professor in educational studies of sport From 2011-2016 Assistant Professor. From 2008-2011 Post Doc and Senior Lecturer in educational studies and dance. From 2004-2008 PhD scholar in movement education. From 2002-2004 Lecturer within the areas dance and movement, movement pedagogy and -psychology. Has studied dance at the University of Brighton (UK), taught and performed in many occasions in Denmark and Spain. has contributed to books and journals in Danish,English ans Spanish. Editor for Dance education around the world: perspectives on dance, young people and change (Routledge, 2015) and Dance, access and inclusion: perspectives on dance, young people and change (Routledge, 2017). Executive board member (research officer) in Dance and the Child International (2009-2012, 2012-2015 and 2015-2018). Chair of the research commitee daCi & World Dance Alliance Global Summit in Taiwan July 2012 and program chair daCi's 13th international congress Copenhagen July 2015.Dansk koordinator i European Network of Observatories in the Field of Arts and Cultural Education linked to UNESCO fra 2015. Invited member of the panel of researchers in arts education established by the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces (from 2015). Contracted as researcher forthe Danish Ministry of Education project Learning through Movement (2013-2014), collaborator of the Finnish Academy's project Arts as Public Service: Strategic Steps towards Equality (ArtsEqual) (2015-2020) and the North-South Network Knowledge Production, Archives and Artistic Research supported by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation (2016-2017).

Primary fields of research

Learning and teaching in sport, dance and movement focusing on embodied, aesthetic, creative and intercultural processes. Dance- and physical education theory, children and young people's corporeality and meaning-making in movement, videographic inquiry, phenomenologically and arts-based inspired research with children, embodiment theory and the role of the body in qualitative research processes.

 

 

Current research

  • “Arts as Public Service: Strategic Steps towards Equality” (ArtsEqual) under the call for the Equality in Society Programme by the Strategic Research Council of the Academy of Finland (2015-2020). Project collaborator in the research process of the Arts@School sub-project.

  • Knowledge Production, Archives and Artistic Research: International Network Program  funded by the Danish Agency for Science, Techonolgy and Innovation. With Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, UCPH and University of Capetown, Department of Theatre and Dance (project partner 2016-2017).

  • Dance Learning in Motion: Global Dance Education (collaboration with researchers from USA, Canada and Australia) (2013-2017)
