Short presentation

The level of glycaemic control is believed to influence the progression of diabetes and its complications in type 1 and type 2 diabetic patients. Variability in absorption of subcutaneously (s.c.) administered insulin increases glycaemic variability and represents a major challenge in insulin therapy. The aim of my PhD project is to investigate the variability of therapeutic insulins and mechanisms associated with physiological factors known/hypothesized to affect insulin absorption from the s.c. tissue.
