My PhD project entitled “Transepithelial Drug Delivery Mechanisms by Peptide Carriers” involves investigation of physio-chemical properties of carrier peptides and the effect hereof on enhancing intestinal insulin delivery. In this context, intermolecular interactions between the carrier peptides and insulin or the cell membrane will be investigated. This work will shed light on the mechanisms of permeation and hereby aid the design of drug delivery systems with tailored physio-chemical properties for therapeutic peptides and proteins.
