Kort præsentation

I am an Assistant professor within the LEO Foundation Centre for Cutaneous Drug Delivery. The LFCCDD is a multidisciplinary centre with people from diverse backgrounds including, chemistry, physics, molecular biology, pharmacy, chemical engineering and veterinary medicine.

Within the centre I head the Novel Analytical Tools Group. Our research is focused on the structural changes of healthy and diseased skin lipids upon interaction with cutaneous drugs and formulations. Firstly, we isolate and purify lipids from skin before studying the chemical and physical structure of these lipid mixtures supported on solid surfaces. The main techniques we use are neutron reflection, attenuated total reflectance infro-red spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM-D).

I am also interested in neutron scattering for biophysics where I study many topics including cell membrane oxidation by UV light and how antimicrobial peptides interact with bacterial membranes through collaborations within the department.

Undervisnings- og vejledningsområder

I currently teach in the Chemical Principles 1st year module (SFABIF117U).
