Primære forskningsområder

Jette Sandholm Kastrup fungerer som forskningsgruppeleder for et projekt vedrørende ionkanal receptorer (ionotrope glutamat receptorer og Cys-loop receptorer). Projektet er udnævnt som et kerneprojekt i forskningssektionen "Biostructural Research".

Forskningsgruppen er en af de førende grupper indenfor strukturel biologi på ionotrope glutamat receptorer. F.eks. var forskningsgruppen den første til at bestemme structuren af de ligandbindende domæner af AMPA receptoren GluA4 (Kasper et al., 2008), kainat receptoren GluK1 (Naur et al., 2005), iGluR orphan receptoren GluD2 (Naur et al., 2007) og kainat receptoren GluK3 (Venskutonyte et al., 2011).

Gruppens fokus er analyse af stoffers molekylære virkningsmekanisme på ionotrope glutamat receptorer og Cys-loop receptorer ved hjælp af røntgenkrystallografi og forskellige metoder til proteinanalyse.
