Hans Skov-Petersen (HSP) har arbejdet med Geografiske Informationssystemer (GIS) og Computer Aided Design (CAD) siden 1987 HSP har siden arbejdet med GIS, digital kortlægning og remote sensing i amtsligt regi, i forbindelse med kommerciel softwareudvikling, indenfor DANIDA og på Københavns Universitet (siden 1995).

HSP er seniorforsker of forskningsgruppelder for Geografisk Informationsvidnskab og Geodesign.

HSP er hortonom (1989: 'Grønne marker set fra rummet') og PhD i geografi (2002: 'GIS, accessibility and physical planning')

HSP's forskningsmæssige interesser omfatter:

  • GIS-baseret modellering af menneskelig adfærd (specielt forgængere og cyklister)

  • Agentbasere modeller

  • Geodesign teknologier

  • Udvikling af bymiljøindikatorer (specielt udfra centrale bygnings- og ejendomsregistre)

  • GIS og fysiske planlægningsprocesser

  • Inakkuratesse i geodata og GIS-modeller

  • GIS-baseret kommunikation
