    Abstract

Sato and colleagues investigate time-dependent impact of exercise on skeletal muscle, revealing altered daily metabolic cycles after exercise specific to the time of day. Exercise at the early active phase robustly activates the HIF1α pathway, followed by glycolytic activation, usage of alternative fuels, and adaptation of systemic energy expenditure.
