“I basically think that work is an essential part of human life and I wish, through my research, to contribute to maintaining and creating healthy, productive and sustainable working conditions for workers, and the creation of a holistic, respectful  interdisciplinary treatment (and RTW) for injured/sick workers.”

Research area

Work & Organizational Psychology

Current research

Project manager and writing a PhD on how employees notified with work-related mental illness’ experience the Danish workers' compensation system, and if the system effects their health, length of sick leave and attachment to the labor marked. This project studies workers with notified: -Mental disorders, -low back pain, -skin diseases, and un notified workers with work related mental disorders. Multiple methods are used: Expert interviews with representatives from different positions in the Danish Workers Compensation System (WCS) and researchers in the area. Focus group interviews with 9 Occupational Medicine Departments. Case- control groups studies with notified and not notified workers with work related mental disorders, a large questionnaire survey and extraction of register data.

The project is funded by the Danish Working Environment Research Fund. Supervisors: Assistant professor Janne Skakon. Senior researcher Bo Netterstrøm and Professor Annie Høgh. Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.

Currently I am starting up a large research project about the Danish notification system (Arbejdsskadesystemet). I am very grateful for the founding of the project and looking forward to the collaboration between the involved stakeholders in the project.
