Mariève Pouliot holds a PhD in Environmental Economics from the University of Copenhagen (2012), an MSc from University of Copenhagen (2007) in Agricultural Development and a BSc in Agronomy from McGill Universtity (2005). She started as an Associate Professor in 2015 at the Department of Food and Resource Economics. She specializes in the use of quantitative methods for analyzing livelihoods and the factors affecting poverty. She is particularly interested in the linkages between natural resources and people’s livelihoods and wellbeing. She has strong empirical experience from Burkina Faso and Nepal and has also been working in Ghana, Guatemala, Rwanda, Tanzania and Thailand.
