Karen Borgnakke, dr.pæd. cand.mag., Professor in Education, University of Copenhagen. She has done research, taught and published in the fields of education and learning research. She has done fieldwork, case studies, participated in development projects and evaluation research, including projects on ICT and new strategies for organisational and pedagogical innovation in comprehensive school, upper secondary school and in higher education. She has more than 20 years experience with developing research methodology in education and learning research, including comprehensive experience with research education.

In the academic career Karen Borgnakke has been Associate Professor, 1989 - 2000 at The Danish University of Education. 2001- 2005 Professor in General Education, University of Southern Denmark. 1996 – 2000. She was member of the Danish Research Council of Humanities. 1998 – 2001, Head of Doctoral Programmes at The Danish University of Education. 1996-, Research supervision and teaching at Ph.d level at Danish and Nordic universities and member of national and international network developing doctoral courses. Member of the PhD Council, the faculty of Humanities, University of Copenhagen 2007-2014. Member of the expert panel, Evaluation of Education The National Agency for Higher Education, Sweden, 2005, 2009.

Visiting Scholar, UC Berkeley Jan-Febr. 2009, Stanford University Oct. 2010, University of Michigan Nov. 2012, University of San Francisco, Oct.2013, University of Alberta Nov. 2015. Member of The Industrial PhD Programme Committee, 2009 - 2014, Member of The Strategic Research Council Programme Committee Education and Creativity, 2011-.2013.

Currently member of European Association for Education Research, Network co-ordinator, Section 19. Research Network.
