Short presentation

Jan Støvring is a landscape architect and senior staff member at the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, University of Copenhagen. He specializes in urban design as well as landscape design and landscape detailing and teaches the basic course in ‘Plants and Technology in Landscape Architecture’ in the undergraduate program in Landscape Design. In addition, he supervises master’s degree students writing theses on design topics. His research focuses on the development of our built up areas and their associated challenges. He is working to develop innovative design responses to urban congestion and climate change. In his practical work, teaching and research, he has developed a unique set of competences in sustainable storm water techniques, focusing especially on the design of permeable pavements.
