My main research focus is in the field of oral delivery of peptides and proteins. The oral administration route is challenging for macromolecules due to their instability in the gastrointestinal tract as well as their large molecular size together resulting in low bioavailability.

To overcome these obstacles I combine novel drug delivery techniques together with a range of excipients which in combination have the potential of both decreasing the degree of degradaton while improving absorption.

Conclusive evaluation of these pharmaceutical approaches are further assessed by various in vitro and in vivo assays such as cell transport studies and animal models using rats.
