Short presentation

Christentze Schmiegelow main area of research is the association between malaria and/or anaemia and poor pregnancy outcomes. A key interest is on altered foetal growth trajectories assessed using transabdominal ultrasound. Furthermore, on the influence of antimalarial drug resistance and antimalaria antibody levels on how and when malaria affects foetal growth.

Current research

Preconceptional and pregnancy cohort study in Tanzania, FOETALforNCD project.

Clinical trial on Intermittent preventive treatment in pregnancy for malaria conducted in Malawi, Kenya, and Tanzania.
