Primære forsknings- og interesseområder

Politisk teori og politisk intellektuel historie, især demokratiteori, demokratiets idéhistorie, folkelige bevægelser og nye former for politisk deltagelse, revolutionernes teori og historie, selvstyrets og selvorganiseringens politiske teori og spørgsmål om suverænitet, stat og den konstituerende magt. Jeg har i særlig grad specialiseret mig i arbejderrådenes historie og teori, i rådsdemokrati og i politiske tænkere som Hannah Arendt, Cornelius Castoriadis og Claude Lefort.

Ph.d.-projekt

Mit Ph.d.-projekt (afsluttet foråret 2018) analyserede forskellige historiske forsøg på at etablere alternative, selvstyrende politiske fællesskaber ved siden af statens etablerede institutioner og repræsentative kanaler samt de teoretiske og politiske kampe om fortolkningen af sådanne alternative politiske institutioner og praksisser. Konkret omhandlede mit Ph.d.-projekt den rådsdemokratiske bevægelse i mellemkrigstidens Europa samt teorierne om rådsdemokrati i den politiske tænkning i det 20. århundrede, særligt hos Hannah Arendt, Cornelius Castoriadis og Claude Lefort.

Min vejleder var Christian F. Rostbøll.

Short presentation

Political theory and political intellectual history, especially democratic thought, the intellectural history of democracy, popular movements and new forms of political participation, the political theory and history of revolutions, theories of self-government and questions of sovereignty, the development of the state and the constituent power. I am a specialist in the history and theory of the Interwar council movement, in council democracy as well as in the political theory of Hannah Arendt, Cornelius Castoriadis and Claude Lefort.

PhD Project

My PhD project (completed in the spring of 2018) analyzed various historical attempts to establish alternative, autonomous political communities beside and beyond the existing institutions of the state and representational channels of participation as well as the theoretical and political struggle on the interpretation of such alternative institutions and practices. Specifically, I engaged with the council democratic (council socialism or council communism) movement in interwar Europe as well as the 20th century political theory on the councils, especially in the political thought of Hannah Arendt, Cornelius Castoriadis and Claude Lefort.

My sypervisor was Christian F. Rostbøll.

I am employed as a Post.Doc. in COMPROMISE - Democratic Ideals and Realm Politics (http://pt.polsci.ku.dk/compromise/) headed by Christian F. Rostbøll and Anders Berg-Sørensen.

Teaching

Teaching

I have previously teached the course Political Theory and the History of Ideas several times. In the spring semester 2015 I taught the graduate course Radical Democracy and the Political Theory of Revolution. I have taught the summerschool Participatory and Post-national Democracy in the summer of 2015 and 2016 as well as the graduate course Democratic Challenges with Lars Tønder in the spring of 2016.

Supervision

I supervise bachelor projects and MA theses within political theory, especially on democratic theory, political participation, representation, the constituent power, revolution, political intellectual history, revolutionary political theory and praxis and Hannah Arendt.
