Organisation profile

The Political Theory community at the Department of Political Science provides a great environment for education and research in political theory. Political theory examines politics from different philosophical and historical perspectives in order to achieve a better understanding of political phenomena and their normative significance. We believe that political theory can thereby contribute important insights to the discussion of the political challenges we face today.

Our research expands across a great variety of theoretical traditions and a wide ranch of political issues including: climate change, migration, citizenship, empires, human rights, secularism, democratic accountability, post-national democracy, council democracy, European public sphere, ideologies, poverty, inequality, liberalism, republicanism, freedom of expression, tolerance, and many more.
