Personal profile

Short presentation

I have through my studies and early career worked in the intersection between taxonomy and genetics, the biological speciation. The main share of my research has been on beetles, but insects as a whole fascinates me. This research aims to contribute to understanding of the factors that affect biological processes at different levels. How changes in climate and geographical structuring affects the formation of species and their genetics and morphology. I have also worked on how previous shifts have increased or reduced species formation and thereby the overall biological diversity. The research has been going on in various projects, among other statistical comparisons between islands and mainland, as well as genetic analyzes of biological populations. I have helped to assess the condition of the Danish insect fauna through several large and small projects, as well as my evolvement in the Danish Entomological Society.
