Anne Mette Thorhauge is associate professer at Department of Communication, University of Copenghagen, Section of digital information and communication. Her research interests include media in everyday life in the broadest sense including, videogames as focused interaction and object of conflict in modern families and smartphones as tools for socialization and management of everyday obligations. Anne Mette Thorhauge has been a part of the Danish media council for children and young people throughout more than a decade, first as a member, later as chair until May 2019. She has worked to ensure a strong anchorage in the UN Convention of the Child that emphasizes Children's right to protection as well as their freedom rights as democratic citizens. In extension of this work Anne Mette is  a member of Danish ITs committee for digital competences. In parallel with these activitites Anne Mette has been part of the development of the Danish Videgame industry. She is the chair of the steering committee in Dadiu: The Danish Academy for Digital, Interactive Enterntainment.

Anne Mette Thorhauge er lektor ved Institut for Kommunikation, Københavns Universitet ved Sektion for digital kommunikation og information. Hendes forskningsinteresser omfatter medier i hverdagslivet i bredeste forstand, herunder computerspil som samværsform og konfliktemne i moderne familier, og smartphones som redskab til socialisering og balancering af hverdagslivets forpligtelser og relationer. Anne Mette Thorhauge har endvidere været tilknyttet Medierådet for børn og unge gennem 14 år, først som medlem af rådet og siden som formand frem til maj 2019. Hun har bl.a. været med til at fastholde en stærk forankring i FNs børnekonvention, der sætter fokus på børns krav på beskyttelse, men også på deres frihedsrettigheder som demokratiske  medborgere. I forlængelse af dette arbejde er Anne Mette Thorhauge også medlem af Dansk IT’s udvalg for digitale kompetencer. Hun  har sideløbende taget del i udviklingen af danske computerspilbranche, og er i øjeblikket formand for styregruppen i Dadiu: Det danske akademik for digitakl, interaktiv underholdning.
