The role of informal learning institutions in teaching climate change

  • Nana Quistgaard (Lecturer)

Activity: Talk or presentation typesLecture and oral contribution

Description

Research shows that cognitive outcomes of school visits to informal science learning environments, e.g. about climate change, are more likely to occur when visits include pre- and post-activities and when the students are provided with a structure during the visit to reflect upon their experiences. The challenge is to understand how to plan and conduct visits and what kind of structure the educators' of the informal institution should provide.
