Today, global financial institutions, financial intelligence units and regulators are engaged in fighting financial crime and catching illegal proceeds. The involved institutions continuously increase their capabilities in this area. Strict compliance regimes seek to ensure that suspicious activities are identified and reported for further investigation and persecution. Filed report numbers of such activities roughly doubled globally in the past five years.
