1st Øresund Workshop in Health & Life Science Law

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesOrganisation of and participation in conference

Description

The Health & Life Sciences are experiencing changes of epic proportions. Rapid progress in many scientific areas, such as gene editing, pharmacogenomics, artificial intelligence and big data-driven precision medicine have greatly advanced the promises and opportunities of the health and life sciences, but they also propose a number of challenges. Many of these issues will need to be addressed by interdisciplinary cross-faculty research, including international legal research efforts. Against this background, the 1st Øresund workshop in Health & Life Science Law attempts to (1) identify the ongoing research in the Greater Copenhagen area, (2) learn more about our colleagues and their projects at our Faculty and on the Swedish side of the Øresund, and (3) discuss the potential for cross-fertilization and future-collaboration. It is our hope that this 1st seminar will serve as a starting point for further future meetings in order to forge a both regional and international research collaboration in this exciting area of law 11:00 – 11.10 Welcome, CeBIL Director Timo Minssen and WELMA Centre leader Mette Hartlev 11.10 – 11.40 Prof. Timo Minssen & Dr. Jakob Wested , The new Centre for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law (CeBIL): Where we come from - What we do - Where we want to go. 11:40 – 11:50 Q&A 11:50 – 12:20 Prof. Mette Hartlev & Katharina O Cathaoir, Health & Life Science Research at WELMA 12:20 – 12:30 Q&A 12.30 – 13.00 Working lunch at Justitia room with continuing discussions 13:00 – 13:30 Titti Mattsson & Ana Nordberg: Health & Life Science Research at LUND University, including a description of two new programs 13:30 – 14:00 Q&A and discussion of potential future collaboration and events.
