Narrative and Cross-Embedding in Interactive Media Art: Sally Pryor's "Postcard from Tunis"

Abstract

The topic of the article is the relationship between interactivity and meaning-making. Australian media artist Sally Pryor’s interactive work Postcard from Tunis constitutes the fulcrum of an exploration of how interactivity in media art can facilitate other kinds of narrative, related to, but also different from those of older narrative media. Accordingly, the theoretical part of the article will revolve around the concepts of interactivity, remediation and narrative.
