Forskning:

Vi studerer biologiske pumper i planter. Vores mål er at finde ud af, hvordan de fungerer, hvordan de reguleres og hvad deres fysiologiske funktion er.
Pumper som vi studerer er bl.a. essentielle for planters næringsstofoptagelse, stresstolerance, sekretoriske processer (fx dannelse af cellevægge) og planters interaktion med omverdenen. Vi har speciel fokus på P-type ATPaser, som er pumper, der bruger adenosintrifosfat (ATP) som brændstof og som former et fosforyleret katalytisk intermediat. I planter er P-type ATPaser involveret i at pumpe protoner, tungmetaller, calcium og muligvis også lipider.
