Korbinian Löbmann received his PhD degree from the National School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand in 2013, and his PhD thesis was put on the Health Sciences Divisional List of Exceptional theses based on research content, originality, quality of expression, and accuracy of presentation. After his PhD, he was appointed as Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen, Denmark and obtained a position as Associate Professor in April 2017. He is a trained pharmacist and did his university education at the Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, Germany.
His research interests are in formulation and physico-chemical characterization of drug formulations and delivery systems and in particular the development of enabling formulations using novel excipients, such as deep eutectic solvents (DES) or cellulose nanofibers (CNF); or new formulation strategies, such as co-amorphous drug delivery systems or microwave amorphization (in situ amorphization). The research aims to improve drug therapy and efficacy of poorly soluble drugs through appropriate formulation of medicines.
2010-2013 PhD from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.
2010 Registration as Pharmacist in Munich, Germany.
2009 Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy, University of Otago, New Zealand.
2004-2008 Pharmacy studies, Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, Germany.
Since April 2017: Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy,University of Copenhagen.
2013 - 2017: Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy,University of Copenhagen.
Dr. Löbmann has been invited presenter at 10 different national and international meetings, including the 7th Annual Global Drug Delivery & Formulation Summit & Expo 2016 in Berlin and the Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) Symposium on Advances in Amorphous Design, Control and Delivery of Amorphous and Co-Amorphous Pharmaceutical Materials 2017 in London. He has been chair and organizer of two international conferences, namely the 10th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Solid State Research Cluster (PSSRC) 2016 (130 participants) and the 4th Annual NordForsk Researcher Networking Meeting on Future Performance Testing of Pharmaceuticals 2015 (74 participants), both held in Copenhagen. Furthermore, he is a Collection Editor of the Topical Collection on “Poorly Soluble Drugs” in the journal Molecules.
