Research supervision and management

i) Co-supervision of three master students and two bachelor students at Molecular Neuropharmacology Laboratory, University of Copenhagen. Supervision involved both theoretical as well as experimental guidance within neuropharmacology, histology and in vivo models.

ii) Co-supervisor for PhD student Annika Thomsen (enrolled in April 2014) at Molecular Neuropharmacology Laboratory, University of Copenhagen headed by Prof. Gether.

iii) Daily supervision of laboratory technicians for more than six years.

iv) Submission of all animal license applications to the Danish Animal Inspectorate Agency and Danish Working Environment Authority at Molecular Neuropharmacology Laboratory, University of Copenhagen.

v)Management and responsibility for genetically modified mouse lines (approximately ten different mouse lines) at Molecular Neuropharmacology Laboratory, University of Copenhagen.

- In vivo

Mouse genetics, transcardial perfusion, drug administration (subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, intravenous), SHIRPA screen, assessment of locomotion and psychostimulant-induced hyperlocomotion, sensitization, sensori-motor function tests (rotating pole test, cylinder test), and animal breeding

 

- Virus mediated expression techniques in vivo

Expression of genetically reengineered receptors (G protein coupled receptors or ligand-gated ion channels) activated by synthetic ligands

 

- Histology

Immunohistochemistry/-cytochemistry, fresh/frozen tissue section preparations using cryostat and vibratome, acute brain slice preparations, staining techniques, in situ hybridization

 

- Molecular biology 

In situ hybridization, PCR, RNA extraction, quantitative real-time PCR, genotyping, microarrays

 

- Pharmacology

Competitive binding assays to assess binding affinity and binding sites, saturation binding and uptake assays, autoradiography

SDS-PAGE/immunoblotting,immunoprecipitation, co-immunoprecipitation, surface biotinylation, synaptosomal preparations,andcell trafficking assays
