I'm currently a PhD student in the Protein Structure and Function program. My research is focused on understanding the mechanism of action of CRISPR-Cas systems on a molecular level, using an integrative approach consisting of cryo-EM, crystallography and biochemical characterisation. The aim of my research is to better understand the molecular details that govern the interaction between nucleic acids and CRISPR-Cas proteins, which can then be used in developing more robust and precise genome editing tools.
