Abstract
The news article was a response to a report by the economists dr. Ásgeir Jónsson and dr. Hersir Sigurgeirsson regarding the winding up proceedings of the collapsed banks in Iceland, where they expressed views that taxation of the estates of the collapsed banks would always be subject to great ambiguities. The article briefly dicusses views on the constitutionality of taxation by means of the Icelandic Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights.
