Abstract
Evidence that the currently-accepted holotype of the name Hedysarum ovalifolium is incorrect is presented. It is also revealed that Paul Erdmann Isert was the collector of the type material and not Peter Thonning. To rectify this situation, a suitable lectotype for this name is here designated.
