Abstract
December 9th. 2009 signed The Council on International Relations of the Evangelican Lutheran Church in Denmark the Porvoo-Declaration on behalf of the The Evangelican Lutheran Church in Denmark. The article demonstrates how the Porvoo-declaration is founded on an understanding of church and order is alien to the democratic lutheran tradition of the Danish Evangelical-Lutheran Church. This theological difference is illustrated by the translation of B.S. Ingemann's hymn "Igennem nat og trængsel" ("Through the night of doubt and sorrow") by the anglican S. Baring-Gould. The article concludes that the Porvoo-membership gradually will change the theological as well as the constitutional situation of The Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Denmark.
