Phantoms of a Blood-Stained Period: The Complete Civil War Writings of Ambrose Bierce

Russell Duncan (Editor), David J. Klooster (Editor)

Abstract

Ambrose Bierce fought the entire four years of Civil War, 1861-1865. Afterward he wrote a series of short stories and newspaper articles to explain his experiences and understandings of what he had been through. This volume collects every known story, all marked by extreme realism and collapsing the boundaries of fiction and history.
