Perforating the Iron Curtain: European Détente, Transatlantic Relations, and the Cold War, 1965-1985

Poul Villaume (Editor)

Abstract

This collection, based upon contributions to the "Copenhagen Cold War Conference 2007", provides a detailed analysis of important aspects of the European détente process between East and West, as it is reflected in the most recent archival based research. It suggests that this process was far more important than previously believed for understanding and explaining social developments that lead to the peaceful end of the Cold War in the late 1980s.
