Abstract

This chapter is dedicated to the late professor Lennart Eberson, who was not only one of our colleagues but also a close friend. Lennart Eberson was a world-leading physical-organic chemist who made seminal contributions to many areas of the subject. These included pioneering achievements in the application and theory of homogeneous and heterogeneous electron transfer reactions of organic compounds. He was one of a small band of scientists who shaped modern organic electrochemistry and who also contributed to this book from the very beginning.
