Non Wood Forest Products certification and auditing

Enrico Vidale, Sabrina Tomasini

Abstract

While Chapter 10 provides a description of the standards applicable to Non-Wood Forest Products (NWFPs), this chapter provides an overview of the scopes of certification in different NWFP standards (paragraph 17.1) and clarifies two features of NWFPs that are essential for establishing meaningful auditing procedures: the ecological position (paragraph 17.2) and the habitat (paragraph 17.3). Finally, as a result of this analysis, the potential auditing indicators for the different NWFPs are presented (paragraph 17.4).
