Abstract

This article examines the relationship between the poems Merlínusspá and Völuspá, particularly in terms of shared symbolic interpretations and gender dynamics. It also considers the conditions pertaining to Merlínusspá's creation, its role in relation to the Breta sögur, and its later life alongside other poetic texts in a manuscript context.
