Abstract

In Denmark, 3,000-4,000 people have lost an eye, they are eye amputated. The most frequent complications associated with the use of an artificial eye, eye-prosthesis, are secretion, lagophthalmos, enophthalmos, rotating prosthesis, prosthesis falling out, and exophthalmos. The wearing of an eye prosthesis and the related complications are important issues that the medical doctor should discus with the patient.
